Dear Organisers,

I used to be a professional ultra-endurance triathlete many years ago. I was lucky enough to race in more than 20 countries and experienced some great races.

On 13th September 2009 I was lucky enough to race the Muskoka 70.3. Your organisation was absolute perfection. It was truly a wonderful event and I feel honored to have been a part of it.

Congratulations to everyone in the race organisation who delivered what is surely one of the very best triathlons on the planet.

Roll on Muskoka 2010 - I'll see you there.

Aloha,

Erik Seedhouse

  • Click here for a map of traffic flow around Deerhurst Resort and the Airstrip

  • It is important to understand that there is no parking at Deerhurst over the course of the weekend unless you have been designated a spot through Deerhurst Staff specifically (as a weekend guest). All athletes (unless staying at Deerhurst or Hidden Valley) must be bused in from the Deerhurst Airstrip. Not to worry about the busing progra.  We polled our athletes after each event in 2008 and 2009 and they all felt that the busing program was terrific with very little wait time.
  • The airstrip is located approximately a 5 minute bus ride to the transition area.
  • On Sunday we will add more buses to the mix in order to make sure all athletes are to the race site bright and early. Buses will begin leaving the airstrip at 5:30 am. On Sunday we suggest that spectators be patient and allow the athletes first opportunity on the buses. We estimate that buses will leave every 15 minutes from the airstrip to Deerhurst. Family and friends can catch up with the athletes on site before the race.
  • Buses will increase in capacity for the needs of athletes and families coming in and leaving to and from the Welcome Banquets as well.
  • Buses will also return athletes, spectators and family back to the airstrip throughout the day. Spectators can catch the bus at the corner by the entrance to the golf course on Deerhurst Drive. East side of the transition zone.

IRONMAN 70.3 CLEARWATER SLOT ALLOCATION POLICY (50 qualifying spots)

At least one Clearwater slot shall be allocated in Ironman 70.3 events to each five-year age-group category in which any age group athlete sends in an application, both male and female, per the age group categories listed.

If there are no athletes entered in the race in a particular age group, then that slot will be moved to the largest populated age group in that same gender.

For additional age group slots, slot allocation shall be representative of the actual number of age group applicants in each category in the race.

As an example, if 8% of the age-group applicants are females 40-44, then 8% of these slots would be allocated in the female 40-44 category.
